At Arcas we are committed to working with the descendants of those who created the cultural heritage sites we investigate and the information we study. We encourage the participation of First Nation communities and other groups in our studies whenever possible based on honesty, mutual respect and trust. To that end, and depending on the kind of studies involved, we seek opportunities for partnerships and subcontracting agreements with First Nations and others, we work with various groups in the design of our studies, consult or notify communities prior to initiating studies, involve community members in archaeological and other field work whenever possible, and provide training to community members as needed. We work with First Nations and others to ensure that all perspectives on cultural heritage values are considered, that results are objective and complete, and that solutions to potential conflicts are fair and workable for all.
