Employment Opportunities
Throughout the year Arcas requires experienced people to assist the Arcas team on archaeological and cultural heritage projects. We are often looking for:
- archaeologists to assist with seasonal fieldwork
- First Nations participants for seasonal fieldwork
- contractors in specialized fields (e.g., ethnography, paleoethnobotany, zooarchaeology and physical anthropology)
For archaeological assistants, interested individuals should posses the following qualifications:
- a B.A. in anthropology or archaeology
- valid driver's license (e.g., B.C. Class 5)
- WCB OFA Level 1 or equivalent
- BC or other relevant archaeological fieldwork experience
The following qualifications would be an asset:
- WCB OFA Level 2 Transportation Endorsement
- consulting experience
- familiarity with GPS
- ATV certificate
- H2S certificate

For First Nations participants, interested individuals should contact their band administrative office as potential participants are usually recommended to us by the band. In addition, persons can contact Arcas at the e-mail address above. Preference will be given to individuals with the following qualifications:
- Local archaeological field experience
- Good knowledge of the area
- Bush experience
- Resource Inventory Committee (RIC) certification for archaeological work
